So, did you know that the first website was launched in 1991? Like, can you even believe it? It was created by Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, and was initially called "info.cern.ch". It was hosted on a NeXT computer at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.
But here's the best part: the first website was basically just a bunch of text files and links! No fancy graphics, no videos, no social media - just plain old text. And get this, it was only accessible via a dial-up modem! Like, can you imagine trying to access the internet with a modem? It's crazy to think about!
But, despite its simplicity, the first website was a game-changer. It paved the way for the internet as we know it today, and I'm so grateful to have grown up with it.
